The Hostel Cascada Verde is located a little up the hill of Uvita de Osa, just 5 minutes walking distance to the Uvita waterfall. Uvita is a small town on the beautiful Pacific coast of Puntarenas, hosting the whale marine national park, Marino Ballena. (scroll down for map).
We recommend buying your food supplies before coming to the hostel. You can find a big supermarket in town next to the bank and a smaller one on the road leading to our place. This could be more comfortable for you since there is no supermarket immediately close to our hostel.
Tracopa operates the buses that run between San Jose and Uvita. They leave hourly from 6 am to 3 pm.
You can take all buses with destination Ciudad Neily, Cortes, Paso Canos, or Golfito. All these buses drive down the coast (“x costanera”). They will all stop in Uvita. You recognize the stop in Uvita by the bus terminal with takeaway restaurant, Flor de Sabana.
The walk to Hostel Cascada Verde is about 20-30 minutes from the terminal. Cross the highway, to the left look for the BCR bank on the corner and follow that road. Shortly after you pass Mosaic wine bar, go left up the hill, following the signs to Hostel Cascada Verde.
Or you take a taxi by the BCR for $4 (2000 colones).
Hint:
We recommend buying your supplies/groceries on the way to our hostel in Uvita central next to the BCR at the SP Supermercado because there is no proper supermarket closer to our hostel.
Coming to town from the south, turn right at the Banco de Costa Rica (BCR). If you arrive from the north then turn left by the bank. Just follow the signs to our Hostel Cascada Verde. From the bank it takes about 3 minutes by car and 20-30 minutes walking.
